Blog #5
Today in class we discussed the life and accomplishments of Socrates. He was a man that lived In early Athens and affected young adults all through out Grease by teaching with a certain method that we still use today. This method is used all throughout the world and it is called The Scientific Method. The time that Socrates lived was a very different time. Back then, if you taught young adults things that their parents did not agree with or the community, you would be out to death. Socrates taught children right outside of the main meeting area. He would teach them by asking a series of questions, not by telling them what and what not to memorize. This upset the community or rulers, because he would teach things that others did not agree with. This let to him being put to trial. When on trial, he did not disagree with what everyone was saying, but more like this is what is right and what I believe in. He lost and was found guilty. He could have escaped from death, but he chose not to.
