Why Do Migrants Face Challenges

Today in class we took notes on the packet that we got on migration. The packet was mainly about Mexico and the United States. The big topic was crossing the boarder because it is either done legally or illegally and most migrants try to cross it illegally because of their living conditions. In the packet there were many definitions about migration and boarder safety. This is another big issue with the topic, boarder safety. The Military and National Guard work very hard to keep our boarder states safe, but it does not always end pretty. The other topic was Ellis Island. This was a place that immigrants would stay until they were accepted into the country. Once you were accepted, you would be put on a ferry to New York. It is no longer in use, so in 1965 they made it into a museum for immigration. It is still open to this day.
